Save My Soul EP
A 5 track leftfield/idm ep (34m 4s) — released December 10th 2007 on Pyramid Transmissions
Phase Mojo (real name Caine Hopkin) originates from South Wales and first got into DJing and making music in the mid '90s, playing local venues and messing around with an old Casio FZ1 sampler and a copy of Cubase. Inspired by the more experimental artists in genres such as Breakbeat, Electro, Drum & Bass and IDM, he's developed a distinctly unique production style and has released cuts on both Plastic Raygun Records and Toytronics.
This EP follows Phase Mojo's appearance on Alternative Networks Vol.1, the 4-track vinyl EP released on Pyramid Transmissions in October 2007. In a review of that EP, DJ Magazine noted the 'smart juxtapositions of atmospheric chords with sponge-like layers of heavy bass' and gave it a respectable 4/5. Ranging in tempo and style, from the squelchy analogue electro of Denton's Dreams, through to the Plaidesqe beat-laden electronica of PHW012 and the 7am deep house groove, Second Dawn, this is Phase Mojo's debut solo release. But expect to hear mo' mojo from Pyramid Transmissions in 2008!
